It's International Women's Month, a time to celebrate the amazingness of all females. And we at taudrey, an all-female company, take that very, very seriously. You see, supporting and celebrating women is the foundation of our business. We're developing a company environment that's encouraging for women in every stage of life, and we hope those efforts are evident in our girl-power brand. For us, it's about far more than jewelry. We hope our pretties are used to connect and empower women, and in doing so, propel them forward. And so, as we continue to celebrate female awesomeness this month, each member of the #taudsquad is reflecting on a very significant question...
WHAT DOES BEING A WOMAN MEAN TO YOU?
TIFF (OWNER/DESIGNER)
As I reflect on how amazing it is to be a woman, I'm reminded of this great quote by William Golding. “Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.” I love, and take so much pride in, the fact that we are an all-female team. From my daughter Siena, to our taudrey French Bulldog mascot Zoe, we are all hard-working gals that pour endless love into our work. We really hope that's felt by each and every customer.
DANIELLE (CREATIVE + COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR)
The word femininity is typically associated with all things delicate and fragile. But when I think of women, I think of strength. I think of the single mothers working two jobs. I think of the females in business endlessly hustling for equality. I think of the breast cancer fighters. Women illustrate incredible strength. Always have. Always will. And so for me, to be a woman means to stay strong. To be strengthened by the women who have come before me. To keep my chin up and fight for the girls looking up to me. And most significantly, to be proud of and celebrate my own illustrations of strength and resilience!
GRACE (CRAFTER + COLLECTIONS MANAGER)
Being a woman for me is being a mother, a sister, a wife, and a friend. To be strong, smart, and the person your loved ones can depend on and turn to when needed. To be emotional, loving and creative. To dream and to do! Being a woman means to be you! Because, well, you're awesome.
JEN (SHOWROOM MANAGER)
In this stage in my life, being a woman means being a wife. Being strong when I need to be and soft and compassionate when such is needed. I honestly believe that women are limitless. This has been proven to me over and over again by the amazing women in my life. Whatever we put our hearts and minds to, we will accomplish and/or overcome.
WALE (CRAFTER)
For me, being a woman means to give life. I take such great pride in being a mother to my sons and daughter. It means to nourish and care for others, giving unconditional love without expecting anything in return.
JULIE (MARKETING INTERN)
To me, being a woman means courage. The word "woman” represents the mixing of emotion and strength, something not all can do. I have a life and can create another. Being a woman is being more, and this notion pushes me to be better every day. Being a woman is having the courage to own who you are. Having confidence and remaining focused, while inspiring others. That's womanhood.
