The year 2016 got a lot of flack. But contrary to public opinion, the #taudsquad had (and has!) lots of love for it. You see, a slew of great things happened, and we couldn't let the month of January pass without shouting out our favorites. No pressure 2017, but you have some big--and might we add, sparkly--shoes to fill!

WE WELCOMED FRESH MEAT!
This year, taudrey got a little thicker in all the right places with two fresh additions. Danielle Telleria joined the team in February to head communications and creative directing, and later in the year, Sophia Oliva started as a stellar intern and climbed her way to leading wholesale operations and serving as lead marketing assistant. When visiting The Jewelry Box or following us on social media, here's how you'll know who is who. Danielle ("D") is the giggly one with the Warby Parker glasses, and Sophia ("Soph") is the one with the precious smile who looks like she couldn't hurt a fly if she tried.
WE WERE ON NATIONAL TV!
In September, we were lucky enough to be featured on our absolute favorite show, the TODAY Show! More specifically, two of our top styles, the World is Your Oyster Necklace and Hanging by a Thread Earrings, were included in Jill Martin's Steals and Deal's segment. Seeing our pretties on TV was the equivalent of getting stuck in an elevator with Brad Pitt -a solid dream come true!- and we worked our tails off to fulfill the thousands of orders that came in as a result of the feature. The experience was one we'll never forget and we absolutely can't wait to do it again!
WE STOPPED THE (LOCAL) PRESSES!
Several local media outlets, including The Miami Herald, Brickell Magazine and Ocean Drive Magazine, highlighted taudrey in 2016. Yay! And seeing our pretty little names and faces in print made great OMG moments! Along with sharing our message and personalized pretties, we also got to connect with some sweet and talented local writers. We're overwhelmingly grateful for the opportunities.
WE 'ROSE' TO THE OCCASION!
While we've always dabbled in the world of rose-accented pieces, presenting them as part of sets and special collections, it was in 2016 that we jumped off the rose deep end and debuted our signature nameplate necklaces in all rose gold (and silver!). This pink-hued expansion made many customers (and of course, the #taudsquad) ecstatic, as now nearly any chain-based taudrey piece can be made to order in stunning rose gold
WE PARTIED WITH OUR PUP!
In 2016, Zoe, taudrey's darling French bulldog and four-legged ambassador, turned the big 21 (3 in human years!) and we went all out. You see, Zoe spearheads our collection of dog tags, and so during her March birthday month, as part of the celebrations, we donated a percentage of dog-tag proceeds to a local initiative that assists pups in need. Known for being an attention monster, Zoe even scored herself a TV segment on NBC South Florida's 6 in the Mix show with Roxanne Vargas!
WE FOUGHT IN STYLE!
Each year, taudrey develops a special rose-accented collection in support of breast cancer awareness. However, in 2016, we targeted our efforts to directly help one special angel aptly named Angeles Almuna. The #taudsquad learned of her brave breast cancer journey through social media and after meeting her in person, was moved to action by her strength and grace. She's fighting cancer with and in style and we're standing right behind her. We donated directly to her a percentage of proceeds from our 2016 Breast Cancer Collection, which included a darling necklace she designed. Additionally, we presented a pop-up at her Fashion Fights Cancer event in Miami's Design District. It is our hope that in supporting Angeles, we're helping her to continue to shine her bright awareness and inspiration light on the world.
WE RODE THE CHOKER TRAIN!
We rode the choker train in 2016, smiling from the front seat the entire time. It was thrilling for the #taudsquad to present dainty and personalized adaptations of everyone's favorite style. Playing with velvet, suede and lace, we launched 19 new choker styles and granted ladies everywhere opportunities to show off what means the world to them, all while trending. And we're happy to share that we're still enjoying the ride and plan to be choked up in 2017 for as long as stylishly possible.
WE TURNED 7 AND GREW FINS!
In July of 2016, little ol' taudrey turned 7. And while most 7 year olds spend their summers at camp and prepping for second grade, taudrey spent the time growing fins. Mermaid fins that is. We celebrated our 7th year with a crazy-fun, mermaid-themed "taudrey Beaches" party, which was splashed with endless bubbles and bites, exclusive taudrey pieces, special discounts, a fishtail-braid bar, mini manis, giveaways, and much more. It was the most successful event in taudrey history. I mean, we're pretty sure even Ariel would have been impressed. WE STRUTTED THE RUNWAY!
Well, if we're going to get technical, our jewelry strutted the runway....while being worn by professional models. You see, we were asked by stand-out swimwear company Luli Fama to accessorize their 2016 Miami Swim Week fashion show, which debuted their Wild Heart collection. The #taudsquad designed a special group of stunners to compliment the Luli Fama collection and got to attend the show to see the Luli Babes strut their (and our!) stuff. We also contributed to their front-row swag bags. Better yet, the event led to a full collaboration, the details of which we will be sharing with you very soon!
WE WANDERLUSTED!
We love to travel...and not only because it's really fun to take pictures of our taudrey pretties against fresh backdrops. And in 2016, we did quite a bit. Members of the #taudsquad traveled to the following locales: Key West, FL; Savannah, GA; Charleston, NC; New York, NY; Seattle, WA; Breckenridge, CO; San Diego, CA; Philadelphia, PA; Las Vegas, NV; San Juan, Puerto Rico; The Bahamas; The Turks and Caicos Islands; Playa Mujeres, Mexico; Paris, France; Rome, Italy; and the Amalfi Coast. We snapped great shots and ate yummy food but most importantly, soaked up inspiration for new designs and communications. We can't wait to see what 2017 brings in the wanderlust realm!
